Mayor John Labrosse

Mayor John Labrosse is a dedicated community leader and longtime Hackensack resident, driving the city’s transformation with a commitment to fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and community revitalization. Since becoming Mayor in 2013, John has led Hackensack to stable property taxes, two credit rating upgrades, and over $1 billion in investment, fueling the city’s downtown renaissance.

Under his leadership, Main Street has flourished with thousands of new housing units, thriving businesses, and major community investments like new parks and the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC). Working alongside Deputy Mayor Kathleen Canestrino and the City Council, Mayor Labrosse continues to move Hackensack forward.

Beyond City Hall, Mayor Labrosse works as a Safety Specialist at Hackensack University Medical Center and is a proud family man, devoted to making Hackensack a better place for future generations.
